We do not begin a fragrance with notes. We begin with a place. A winery in the foothills at the start of summer. The old library of Coimbra as the sun goes down. A casino hall in Baden-Baden on a Christmas night. We go there, we listen — to the light, the dust, the stone, the voices. Then we bring back what the place made us feel, and write it in scent.
